Interrupting Man-Made Narratives
A 100 Word Sermon Inspired by Luke 7:36-50 with a dash of Maya Angelou
She brought perfumed oil in a vase made of alabaster. Standing behind him at his feet and crying, she began to wet his feet with her tears.
She wiped them with her hair, kissed them, and poured the oil on them.
Unexpected situations and life choices can lead you into a spiritual wilderness. Broken promises fracture relationships. The mirror reflects regret and emptiness. Neighbors label you a sinner and toss you aside. Interrupt the narrative. Remember your humanity. Reclaim your identity: You are made in God’s image and of sacred worth. Seeking the source of holiness, let down your hair. Weeping with relief, unburden yourself with gratitude. Healing your relationship with the Divine, surrender at Jesus’ feet. Great love flows from the core of your being. The peace of Christ covers you with blessings: “Phenomenal woman, your faith has saved you.”
