Measuring the Soul of a Nation

A 100 Word Sermon Inspired by Amos 7:7-17

Then the Lord said, "See, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of my people.”

How do you measure a nation’s integrity?
What is the plumb line that God sets
	to identify foundational gaps?
Where is toxic mold creeping in?

Don’t normalize the cracks in democracy. 
Divine Wisdom is exiled.
The house is sinking and is about to collapse.

Flee from the field of complacency
	or risk being choked by its weeds.
Speak truth to power.

Prophetic voice and empire’s narrative 
	cannot share the same space. 
Naming cruel wicked practices 
	is a sacred act of love.

Reset society’s moral compass.
Liberate neighbors from unholy propaganda.
Declare the rhetoric of the cross.
Let Justice roll down . . .
