Spit and Salvation

A 100 Word Sermon Inspired by John 9:8-41

When he had said this, he spat on the ground and made mud with the saliva
and spread the mud on the man’s eyes.

Unjust systems gaslight God’s Word. 
Threatening to bury holy gifts,
	the sins of exclusion perpetuate
	Racism
	Poverty
	Ableism
	Incarceration.

The very light of the world dwells among us
	but is questioned and condemned. 
Prophetic messages direct you 
	to ask different questions that reveal the Kin-dom.

Dirt from the earth combines with the spit of divine humanity.
Crude material prioritizes grace over legalism,
	transformed into miraculous testimony. 

Don’t shut yourself out from the glorious works 
	of the one sent for salvation.
Allow your sacred being 
	to shine healing power into a divided world.
Be renewed in the pool.
Be astonished! Believe!
